Introducing - a New Newsletter format/content

Hi Reader,

How is it possible that it feel like Summer already? On the last Newsletter edition I was welcoming Spring and now, in less than a month, Summer has come... If anyone still has doubts about Global Warming being real, here you go!...

As more recently I started to develop some work for a client who happens to be a well known Speaker Futurist, I've became even more focused on sustainability and I am also learning how to better serve my community. So I'll be writing more blogs on my website and referencing them here, and at the same time will be bringing you some relevant content that is now part of my daily work, with a future perspective that matters for both health and Interior Design/Feng Shui. I hope you enjoy it!

Looking into a green Future

"My recent move into a NEW Home and what I think you should know"

I moved recently and inspired by the events, decided to write about it and put together a downloadable free PDF with tips for those moving in NYC - which really can help anyone living in any city. I included some Feng Shui and healthy advice too.

(..) Also, I had to coordinate with a Sofa Doctor to break my sofa... again! - to get it out of my apartment and also inside the new one. And you may think - how did someone with my experience have to use a Sofa Doctor? Well, it all started before my previous move - working in furniture retail I had an amazing opportunity to get a good quality sofa that I loved, at a fraction of the price. At the time I asked the broker for the width of the door (which had no problem in fitting), but I didn't account for that small part of the hallway that was too narrow, right outside my door - in my head, I only remembered the stairs and my apartment was right here!..." READ MORE on my blog.

You can download the same PDF in the link below - I included some resources inside:

2beInsidesign-How to successfully move in.pdf

"Used furniture is about to become a $16.6 billion business. Even Ikea is getting in on it" Elizabeth Segran wrote for Fast Company

"Since the 1990s, the American market has been awash with inexpensive home goods made in low-wage overseas factories, designed to last only a few years. This affordable furniture makes it possible to redecorate regularly and live itinerant lives, since we can toss everything out with each move. But the convenience comes at a great environmental cost. Making and shipping a single piece of furniture emits an estimated 90 kilograms of carbon, the equivalent of flying a Boeing 747 for an hour. And Americans throw out 12 million tons of furniture annually, up from 2 million in 1960, which clogs our landfills and wastes the wood, metal, and plastic required to create it." Via FastCompany

And it's not just about companies reselling used furniture - it's also about companies buying that furniture as their raw material, and reshape it into a new design or product. And that's what many companies are doing already - entering the "Circular Economy". Watch this cool documentary about it, on YouTube.

FOOD

I don't believe that the Future will be totally vegetarian (we were hunters and gatherers after all) but we will have to reduce meat consumption and have our greens to be more nutrient dense...

In a world ever-changing, what we eat and the quality of what we eat is becoming more and more important. Practices like regenerative agriculture and vertical farming are more expensive, but so needed if we want to transition into a healthier and sustainable world, with less carbon footprint - and we need that Urgently! Interesting video from someone who recognized on time, that he needed to correct the way he was eating and started a business growing more nutritious and sustainable greens. And note to self- we think we're eating pesticide-free food when we buy organic but it's not necessarily true (watch the video till the end)Let's all make a better future, shall we? (by the way, it seems there's a home version of this- how cool is that?)

And speaking about nutritious food, here's a WildFit friendly recipe adapted by me, based on my mother's recipe of this traditional Portuguese Codfish dish - "Bacalhau à Gomes de Sá"

Finally, I wanted to leave you with this post I saw on Twitter the other day. Take a look at this video from people in the UK during late 60's. Attention - this is not about shaming people - obesity has become a health problem, more than an aesthetic one. It is really a matter of public health now, and if you haven't started to question how did we get to where we are today, maybe you should. I'll leave you a hint- start looking at the Food Industry/Marketing.

During the WildFit 90 Day Challenge it is one of the things you will learn - to identify how the Food Industry plays such an important role in your food choices. And I am opening the spots for the next WildFit 90 Day Challenge Spots. And hurry up because there's only 2 Spots left.

My WildFit 90 Day Challenge, is a very personal experience of groups of 2-3 people maximum so that you can get a closer to one-on-one coaching experience, while still benefiting from being in a community. It's also much easier to coordinate the zoom coaching sessions to a schedule that fits everyone, and I am even offering the option to make a connection group through Telegram instead of Facebook, if that is a preference.

You can sign up for the Inside 90, which is my WildFit 90 Day Challenge, that starts on Monday June 7th, 2021. I hope you join WildFit, because not only you will learn so much about health and human behavior, ultimately I know it will also change your life.

Email me back, signup directly or book a discovery call through the link on this page of my website.

Note- I am offering a payment plan in 3 months. If you are interested, email me at 2beinsidesign@gmail.com

I hope you enjoyed the content and what I am giving you today. Have an amazing and bright day!
